This has been a guiding principle throughout my design career. While my core competencies lie in User Research, Interaction Design and Visual Design, I also take on roles of a Scrum Guardian, DesignOps Leader, and Design Mentor to help set teams and people up for success. Below are my areas of expertise that make me a valuable addition to any product team—
Systems Thinking
I break down ambiguous problems into workable modules; then solve for scalability and balance between interdependent entities.
Accessibility
Accessibility forms a core value of my design process, and I always include this critical lens of thinking.
Design Strategy
I regularly engage with cross-functional stakeholders to define vision, elicit problems and represent the users’ best interests.
Product Design
Emergency Address // Twilio Phone Numbers
Developed a new modularized workflow for adding an emergency address to a Twilio Phone Number, scaled across Twilio’s suite of 20+ products.
Indexing Options // Esri ArcGIS Pro
Defined a new interaction pattern for a settings page in ArcGIS Pro. Provided complete flexibility for a varied group of users with differing strategies of their data management.
Layer List // Esri ArcGIS Javascript API
Redesigned the Layer List widget for the ArcGIS Javascript API. This widget is a primary interface, used to display a hierarchical list of layers and layer actions in a web app.
Catalog Tab // Esri ArcGIS Pro
Refactored core and contextual tabs for GIS data management in ArcGIS Pro’s ribbon. This is the main tab used to create and organize GIS file types used in a project.
Accessibility Testing Toolkit // Esri ArcGIS Pro
Developed an accessibility testing toolkit to help designers, developers and product managers test for accessibility bugs. With limited resources for desktop accessibility guidelines, this toolkit became a quick guide for accessibility checks before shipping.
